I am writing this testimonial endorsing the skills and value Pharm.D graduates can add to patient care as Clinical Pharmacists, based on their work at my hospital. Amidst the heavy workload it is often difficult for a physician to come up with a prescription tailored for every patient. It creates a necessity for someone to communicate all the slip-ups efficiently to a physician and make the therapy rational. In that case, clinical pharmacists are beneficial in providing authentic drug information, monitoring the therapy, promoting the rational use of medicines and many more. Markedly they address all the drug related problems and suggest the best possible solution which is evidence-based. It’s a boon that just like developed countries, clinical pharmacy services have evolved from dispensing to pharmaceutical care in India. I wish this kind of service be offered at every hospital in India.
